Thermomet T&A is a small private company with subject of activity innovations, research and development of powdered alloys on Iron base(PAIB)intended for plasma and gas-flame surfacing/spraying.

PAIB are used for surfacing on parts. Depending on the conditions the part is working in, the coatings may have the following properties: Abrasion, metal to metal friction, corrosion and high temperatures resistance.

The PAIB contain the following alloying elements: Cromium, nickel, molybdenum, boron, silicon, carbon. They are chosen in such a proportion that will ensure the synthesis of hard and difficult to melt phases, namely: Carbides, borides and silicides of iron, chromium and molybdenum. The hardness of the surfaced coatings is 45-62HRC.

The engineers working for THERMOMET have created and patented in Bulgaria three types PAIB: Spau-3(Europatent 0235310), SPAU-4 and SPTU-3.
Surfacing abrasion and friction(SPAU-3, SPAU-4);
Excellent thermal stability at high temperatures up to 1000 deg.C(SPTU-3);bigger operational resource of the surfaced parts in comparison with the resource of the new parts(SPAU-3, SPTU-3);a several times less consumption of scarce metals like nickel, cobalt, molybdenum;an alternative of the powdered alloys on nickel and cobalt base;2-3 times lower price than the powdered alloys on nickel and cobalt base.
Applications of PAIB: Repair or preventive surfacing of camshaft cams, engine valves, regulating valves, parts of building and agricultural machines, parts of metallurgical and chemical equipment;production by mim process or by hot pressing pm process of the above parts.
